I very recently lost 7 of my cats due to kibble, and over the counter flea treatment. They were all taken by sudden, and violent seizures without displaying prior symptoms. The zodiac flea stuff is what took them so quickly, but testing to find this out revealed things like liver cancer. (A vet tech told us this "accidentally". The overall result was "inconclusive"...meaning that since the Zodiac company paid for the tests, they didn't want us to know they killed our cats.) I did some research to find out what could have caused liver cancer in so many of them. I lost 3 last year to liver, and kidney issues. I felt stupid. So stupid. It was their food. It was destroying them from the inside out. Of course cat and dog food isn't good for our pets. It's cooked, and full of carbs, not to mention euthanized pets right along with their collars and tags AND euthanasia, roadkill, diseased livestock, and tumors. This is nowhere near their natural diet at all.
Those things will never be allowed in this house again.
After simply passing the story on to a few vets, and vet techs, I was told the deaths of my cats couldn't have been caused by anything BUT poisoning, and to never buy over the counter flea products, especially Zodiac and Hartz. I decided to start doing my own research on that too, and found [link]
Just reading it upsets me. It breaks me to know I killed them. The oldest was with me for 15 years. I'm personally boycotting these products, and spreading the news about the food to everyone I can. I want to tell my story. I want to protect the ones in the world now, and the sweet children in my home, I would kill, and die to protect. I will never let Wraith go. She was welcomed with open arms, and paws. (I think the only one who hasn't cuddled her is Voodoo, my tarantula LOL. I don't see that happening.) I'm really glad you e-mailed me actually. I wasn't sure if you cared or not (No offense, we just don't know each other ^_^) but I'm glad you do, so I'm telling you this for your cat, and for the next dog your boyfriend will inevitably bring home LOL
Their natural diet should be raw bones, meat, and organs. I just found [link]
Which is going to help me tremendously in the future, instead of wondering if what I'm buying at the commissary is organic, or if I'm buying enough amounts of things.I'm planning on trying them out as soon as we get paid again. Everything there is organic, and the price tags aren't painful to look at.
It's your choice, I'm not telling you what to do, I just want people to know that they can save their little loves from the things that have happened to mine. Right now, I'm dealing with a vet who thinks their natural diet is going to "screw them up". Another vet who works there in the same hospital recommended a natural diet. Some vets are backed by pet food companies. A lot of them are. Recently when I had to take my Howler and Mistoffelees to Hufford animal hospital, they started feeding them kibble without my permission, and then came out and told me about it. I raised some hell, because these people were trying to get as much money from me as possible, and I told them I didn't want them eating that stuff. The tech was like "Why? Are they allergic?" Like "Oh now that we've done this, can we possibly charge you for something else?" ...I...as calmly as possible explained that there was euthanized pets in it, along with their collars, their tags, the
euthanasia, tumors, roadkill, diseased livestock etc...and the bitch just kept nodding at me. They know...of course they know. I thought I was going to just lose it, and attack her. I had to move away quickly.
I've taken it upon myself to tell as many people as possible. Nobody should have to feel the way I feel. I know I have a long road ahead of me. Caring or not, people are going to trust "professionals" over me.(I don't think it's very professional as a caregiver to put money above the health, and life of those you're supposed to be caring for.) I talked to one woman who quite obviously loved, and bragged about her cats as if they were her children. Like me. I thought I could get through to her, and she told me when she put flea drops on her cats, they started foaming at the mouth, and spasming. I asked her why she would keep doing that, and she told me she "has to do something about the fleas." If I'd known her name, and address, I probably would have reported her.
As far as the flea issue goes, I'm reading a lot of vet blogs from vets who are either not paid to promote kibble, or are using the anonymity of the internet to get the word out. Healthy animals don't get fleas. kibble attracts them. That makes too much sense. Nobody's going into the wild and shaking a bag of wolf chow kibble, or spraying them down with flea treatments either. Wolves are not suffering from fleas...nor are the other wildlife. They're on their natural diets.
Thank you so much again. Wraith is definitely the right dog for us. I found out today she loves gizzards and hearts LOL. I'm hoping to find a local place to get organic liver in case hare-today doesn't work out for some reason. I'm hoping it does. I'd buy their boneless ground meats for my husband and I. 3.99 a pound for lamb is insanely cheap LOL and probably better for us than beef.
Oh my...I've written you a small novel LOL I hope you have time to read it, and consider making a change. Thank you again, and any time you're wondering how she's doing, you feel free to email me.

So...when I saw an 8 month old rottweiller puppy on craigslist, I was immediately interested. Since then, she's come to live with us, and is a wonderful dog. After sending this, I didn't get another email back from the woman giving her up.

There is no need for you to do anything, this was entirely random and requires no effort on your part other than to sit there and wonder what kind of wacko goes around randomly hugging other people.
